The outcome...

Kemi Nekvapil Weekly Words Blog

As you know this time last week I was about to embark on the Neverest challenge, a 104km run/hike over 7,488m elevation to raise money for the Australian Himalayan Foundation.

I thought you may want to know the outcome.

Of the 40 participants who entered the challenge, only two people completed the distance.

I was one of the two and, the only woman.

This was an unexpected outcome.

I was not sure that I could even finish the event, to become the only woman to complete it, is beyond anything I could have imagined. I am proud and happy. :)

If you are on Instagram check out my Neverest Highlight story, you will see all the stages of an endurance race.

There is so much to think about and process in regards to what was achieved over the weekend, and I feel I have writing content for the next year or so.

Some people have asked me what is next?

Rest and recovery are next!

I currently have no physical challenge planned, what I am excited about is how achieving this outcome will impact how I live my life, how I serve others and how I continue to show up in the world.

I want to thank you for your incredible support in regards to donations, they are still coming in, and nearly $3500 has been raised so far.

In the meantime, I will rest and reflect, and I look forward to sharing with you the questions that winning Neverest has opened up for me, such as:

  • Do we ever really know what we are capable of?

  • What does it take to push through and how do we know if it will be worth it?

  • Does growth ever feel good in the growing?

I wish you a weekend of delightfully unexpected outcomes. xxx

Due to school holidays, there will be no ‘Weekly Words’ for the next two weeks.

If you still wish to donate and support The Australian Himalayan Foundation to fund community-led projects in the Everest region of Nepal. Please donate here

NO amount is too small.

I thank you in advance.
