Some love from me and Elizabeth Gilbert x

I write to you today with a broken heart. I sit with a heavy sadness that, at random times through the last few days, I notice tears streaming down my face. Australia said ‘NO’.

Of course, we know that the results of a referendum do not define the resilience and sovereignty of the oldest surviving culture in the world. And yet…there are broken hearts, broken spirits, and a deep sadness for what could have been.

What do we have in these moments? How do we nourish ourselves in these times? We must access love. To care for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

My dear friend Elizabeth Gilbert has been writing a letter to herself for thirty years. These letters are called ‘Letters from Love, and the question Liz asks herself at the top of her journal: ‘Dear Love, what would you have me know today?’

And then, through intuition, magic, and the power of pen to paper, love speaks.

A few weeks ago, Liz asked me if I would be her guest contributor to her ‘Letter From Love’ community, to which I said, “100% hell yes!”

I am sharing my ‘Letter From Love’ here with you today. And let me tell you, love had a few things to say to me.

At the start of Liz’s newsletter, she also shares where she has been the last few weeks, and I am manifesting myself in the same place one day—literally, paradise.

Kasondra McConnell and Iana Edwards, the brilliant founders of Paradise & Vibe, are wellness retreat creators, and they have also shared their ‘Letters From Love.’

And how about you find a quiet place and write your own ‘Letter From Love.’ I promise you’ll get what you need, especially if your heart is heavy with the world.

Our ‘Letters From Love’ .

In a world that feels loveless in many ways, where the darkness seems to be consuming the light, we must remind ourselves and each other that moving toward the light (not marinating in the darkness) will nourish our broken hearts.

As always, I would love to hear your insights, thoughts or musings.

Wishing you a weekend of moving toward love.
